Hello everyone.

Last year Clare did the race for life for my close friend Carrie who was also taking part on the same day.

Carrie had battled with breast cancer for 15 months, everything that could have gone wrong for her did and she was hospitalised a few days before the race. I was with her on the day of the race and she made a remarkable effort to take part. She died 6 weeks later on 18th July 2006.

Clare had been a brick for me during Carrie's illness. I spent as much time with Carrie as I could and Clare was always there to share my grief at every step. I was at her home the day she died and Clare was the first person I told even though she was in Hong Kong at the time.

This year Clare and I were going to do it together in remembrance of Carrie but as you know recent events have blown my world apart and I cannot believe I will be racing for Clare instead of with her.

I have signed up to do same race Clare did last year. She was so pleased with her success she's set a high benchmark. It's going to be a very difficult day for me for obvious reasons and I hope you can help me raise money in memory of two exceptional women who were robbed of their lives when they were in their prime.

Everyday gets harder missing Clare. This was supposed to be our year, she sent me a text when she was in hospital saying 2007 was still going to be our year. The Year of the pig!


Please no one else die, I watched my grandma die 5 weeks before Carrie did. I can't take it anymore. Thank you.
